WEDNESDAY CONDITIONS:

Slow play has been a consistent problem Wednesday morning since the league has grown to over 200 players for everybody to complete their round of golf in an acceptable amount of time.  A few groups or persons have caused this problem by taking up to 5 hours to complete their round causing those players following to take the same amount of time.   We would like all Wednesday morning groups to complete their round of golf in 4 hours and 15 minutes or no more than 4 hours and 30 minutes.   The Wednesday league usually has over 140 players that signs up to play every week.   We try to schedule everybody to play but the golf course has limitations for the Wednesday morning play time period.   We have limited the Wednesday morning count to 120 players with exceptions to shotgun starts in an attempt to meet these suggested completion times.

In order to accommodate all league players we have setup a Wave 2 schedule for players willing or may be required to play other than Wednesday morning.  If there is no room Wednesday morning players may choose to play Wednesday afternoon or Thursday morning as “OPEN PLAY” if available or not play the coming week.   Every person that specified to play in the Wednesday league is identified in this Wave-2 schedule.   There are two parts to this Wave-2 schedule with one part identifying all permanently assigned players willing to play other than Wednesday morning, all persons that have played less than 4 Wednesday tournaments the previous year and all new 2014 LAGA members.   The other part will comprise of regular Wednesday morning players separated into four columns with one column rotated to play in Wave-2 every fourth week.  A Wave-2 Scheduled List will be printed with the affected players each week when necessary and will be located close to the tournament entry table.   When printed all Wednesday players should review this list for their name and if present fill out the Wave-2 entry form identifying when they are willing to play.

When there are possible frost delays in February and maybe in November we may go with shotgun starts.  The only other times we do shotgun starts is usually on the second day of the Wednesday 2-Day Championship tournament and when we play other golf courses because the greens are being top dressed at Los Altos Golf Course.   For the remaining of the year all Wednesday morning tournaments will be going off of #1 and #10 tees in an attempt to keep the round of golf under 4 hours and 30 minutes for everybody.
