SHOULD BE EARNED, RESPECTED AND, THROUGH STRICT ADHERENCE
TO THE USGA HANDICAP SYSTEM, BECOME A TRUE REFLECTION OF
A GOLFER'S ABILITY.
The Los Altos Golf Association is a member of the Sun Country Amateur
Golf Association which is affiliated with G.H.I.N. (Golf Handicap and
Information Network). Our Association number is 35-140-1. GHIN was
developed and is maintained by the United States Golf Association.
POSTING OF SCORES
The Los Altos Golf Association together with the Pro Shop and the Los
Altos Women Golf Association purchased a computer for entering scores
and maintaining your handicap. Members are requested to post their
scores for all rounds played.
Members must be aware of the Equitable Stroke Control System.
EQUITABLE STROKE CONTROL PROCEDURE FOR 2000
A new procedure was begun in 1993. The following is the maximum
number of strokes a player can post on any hole depending on the
players course handicap:

*A new standard effective on Jan. 1, 1999
Players should adjust their scores using this Equitable Stroke Control
procedure before posting into the computer.
TOURNAMENT SCORES
All Tournament Scores are sent to GHIN by the Handicap Chairman. Your
tournament scores are compared to your regular scores by the GHIN
computer and reports submitted to LAGA where applicable.
